West Hall is the premier residence hall and campus life center on Mount Vernon Campus. The building is gold-certified under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building rating system.
West Hall's residential space offers modern residential accommodations for both first-year students and upperclassmen. Students reside in suite-style configurations featuring single and double bedrooms, shared common space, and a kitchenette.
The building also features wireless Internet access throughout, and a large shared kitchen, study lounge, and laundry facility on each floor.
West Hall is also home to two large meeting rooms (B108 and B215) and several medium and small meeting rooms with built-in audiovisual capabilities, including projectors and speakers. These rooms can be reserved for events.
Blackbox Theatre, located in West Hall, is a 1,600 square foot blackbox-style theatre. As the home of GW’s student theatre program, and a preferred location for concerts, presentations, and other events, this space is extremely versatile and can accommodate many needs.
The Recording Studio, located in West Hall, offers a state-of-the-art recording experience for musicians in all ranges of music. Equipped with a soundproof live room and control room, the studio runs Pro Tools HD8, which includes an arsenal of plug-ins to help you get exactly the sound that you are looking for.
The Dance Studio, also located in West Hall, provides space for dance rehearsals of all types.
The West Hall Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art fitness fitness center located on the B1 level. It's open to all members of the Mount Vernon Campus community, free of charge.
