Student and Campus Life
There is so much the Mount Vernon experience has to offer all GW students, from campus traditions, to athletics events, and more!
Traditions, Events, and Programs
The Mount Vernon Campus offers unique events throughout the academic year. These events are offered exclusively at the Mount Vernon Campus, but are open to all students.
Community Cookout
Kicking off the year, the Community Cookout is one of the first opportunities for the Mount Vernon community to come together on the Quad.
Vern Harvest
An annual fall favorite, Vern Harvest is a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate everything that makes fall great on the Vern.
Vern Lights
Heading into finals and colder days, this event is a chance for community members of the MVC to gather and enjoy a warm beverage and the beautiful lit up Mount Vernon Campus.
Lunar New Year
Each year, the Mount Vernon community celebrates Lunar New Year, the start of the new year in many Asian cultures, as one of our major campus cultural celebrations.
Fountain Day
Marked by turning on the fountain on the Mount Vernon Campus Quad, this event allows for our community to come together again in the final weeks of the semester to celebrate everything that we have accomplished throughout the year.
Back to the Vern
The Mount Vernon community closes each year by inviting the graduating class of former campus residents back for one last celebration of GW achievement and success.
Athletics
The varsity athletic facility also includes coaching offices and on-site locker rooms for home and visiting teams, as well as a fully-staffed athletic training room.
