Counseling and Psychological Services

LCounseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) serves as the primary psychological health resource for the GW community. CAPS supports students' mental health and personal development by collaborating directly with students to overcome difficulties and challenges that may interfere with their academic, emotional and personal success.

Counseling Services

Students can access routine services at the Foggy Bottom location (Colonial Health Center, Marvin Center, Ground Floor), where they can consult with a member of the clinical team. We have a robust team of clinicians who provide support services at GW.

Counseling availability and hours may change. Be sure to check the Colonial Health Center website for current availability. Email questions about services to [email protected].

Let's Talk

Let's Talk is a program that provides free drop-in consultations for GW students. No appointment is necessary and students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Just come in for an informal, friendly, and confidential consultation. Speaking with a counselor-consultant can help provide insight, solutions, and information about other resources on- and off-campus.

Let's Talk is offered every Wednseday, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at:

Academic Building
Suite 119

Report a Concern

Report a concern through the CARE Network, an anonymous system for any member of the GW community to provide information about a student of concern. Through a university-wide, cross-functional network of professionals, the CARE Network will identify and respond to students needing academic, social or other university resources in order to help support them throughout their time at GW.
